Conductor, Pianist and Vocal Coach Andrew Samlal's main aim is using his art form to allow for a communion of the human spirit whilst simultaneously transcending to the highest form of beauty.
Some of Samlal's musical engagements includes Music Director (Delaware Valley Opera Company, Le nozze di Figaro 2024), Assistant Conductor (Prague Summer Nights), Apprentice Conductor (Philadelphia Ballet) and Faculty Conductor (Temple University). As a collaborative pianist, Samlal has been privileged to have extensive experience in choral, operatic, christian and jewish religious services.
Samlal is currently completing doctoral conducting studies at the University of Maryland where he studies with David Neely. He is also the newly appointed UMD University Orchestra Music Director and Assistant Conductor with the Maryland Opera Studio. Other conducting teachers include Markand Thakar, Beatrice Affron, Michael Votta and Jose Luis Dominguez. He also studied piano with Lambert Orkis, Sara Davis Buechner and harpsichord with Joyce Lindorff.
